Meade DS-2114ATS-LNT 114mm AutoStar Reflecting Telescope

Meade DS-2114ATS-LNT 114mm AutoStar Reflecting Telescope
Let modern technology bring the cosmos to your eyes astronomy observation and guide your explorations of the skies with this AutoStar Reflector Telescope by Meade. It features precision optics combined with computerized navigation that puts the universe at your fingertips. This telescope features a large 114mm precision polished primary mirror, front surface coated with highly reflective aluminum astronomy observation and protected by a hard silicone-monoxide quartz over-coat. It gathers 361% more light than a 60mm diameter lens, showing far brighter astronomy observation and more highly detailed images. This is very advantageous when observing faint, far away deep-space objects. Its AutoStar (AT) computer controller automatically locates astronomy observation and tracks over 1400 celestial objects at the touch of a few buttons. AutoStar features easy-to-use menus to guide you through its comprehensive database astronomy observation and amazing operations. It obliterates the traditional learning-curve needed to navigate the sky. Your very first night after an initial setup you can find hundreds of objects, some of which might have otherwise required years of study to locate. AutoStar's substantial software programming includes "guided tours" of the night's best objects, all the major planets, asteroids, comets, satellites, Messier, Caldwell, SAO catalog objects, plus a text description of most objects to be observed. This makes exploring the heavens as easy as scrolling the menus, pushing the GO TO button astronomy observation and watching as AutoStar does all the work locating astronomy observation and tracking database objects.  After acquiring an object, AutoStar tracks objects at the precise sidereal rate needed to keep them centered in the eyepiece. It features 9-speed operation on both axes from slow to fast. Otherwise a planet will move out of an eyepiece's field at modest power in 15 to 30 seconds due to the Earth's rotation. The oversized bearings offer smoother motions in altitude astronomy observation and azimuth than those usually achieved with manual telescopes.  This provides a degree of mechanical precision astronomy observation and smoothness that enables extremely accurate astronomy observation and consistent motions about both axes. Refinements like this make DS telescopes fun astronomy observation and easy to operate. Its Level North Technology points the telescope northwards, so when combined with the Autostar system it virtually aligns itself. You also receive PC compatible Meade Navigator astronomy software that includes a database of over 10,000 celestial objects for you to explore. Other details of your Computerized Relector Telescope include: Adjustable aluminum tripod (2) 1.25" super Plossl eyepieces DS-2000 mount Red dot finder Astronomy software DVD Tripod tray astronomy observation and hardware packet Measures approx. 18"L x 5" in diameter Uses 8 AA batteries (not included) Model #: DS-2114ATS-LNT Comes with a manufacturer's 1 year limited warranty For warranty information about your Meade AutoStar Telescope, please call HSN.com Customer Service at 800.933.2887 (8 am-1 am ET). Centro de Investigaciones de Astronomia - The Centro de Investigaciones de AstronomĂa (CIDA) is an institution in Venezuela, founded in honour of Francisco J. Duarte in 1975 for promoting observation, investigation, experimentation, theoretical work, and dissemination of research in the field of astronomy.

Sternenbote - The Sternenbote is a monthly astronomy journal, edited by the Austrian astronomical Society (Astroverein) in Vienna. The journal was first published in 1958, and contents include ephemerides of comets and other solar system objects, and observation reports.

Precovery - Precovery is a term used in astronomy that describes the process of finding the image of an object (usually a minor planet, but sometimes a comet or even a natural satellite) in old archived images or photographic plates, for the purpose of calculating a more accurate orbit. The name is based on pre-recovery; recovery being the process of making new observations of a previously-observed object after a period of non-observation.

Observation Tower Ahlbeck - The Observation Tower Ahlbeck is an observation tower with tree observation decks at Ahlbeck on the island Usedom in Germany. The Observation Tower Ahlbeck is a steel framework tower and carries on a fourth platform over the observation platforms and the top some aerials for mobile phone services.

An early discussion of the scientific method stresses an importance on the island of Rhodes. However, his synthesis of astronomy superseded Hipparchus's work: although Hipparchus wrote at least from 147 BC to 127 BC. Hipparchus is considered the greatest astronomical observer, and by some the greatest astronomer altogether, of antiquity.
